Lapis Labs is a student-led academic research group based out of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, created to help promote research in the field of machine learning and artificial intelligence amongst the wider academic student body. We function independently of a larger university body with our own research goals and resources.

We collaborate with both industry and academic labs across a wide range of subfields towards the goal of conference papers and meaningful contributions.

Past Collaborators: IBM Research, Intel Labs, Virtue AI, National Library of Medicine, Center for AI Safety, Microsoft Research, and a large variety of university groups.
